Over the past few years chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) has been making headlines, instilling fear, and threatening the NFL. I think it's safe to say that many people have heard of CTE, but it's something that is hard to definine and hard to understand. CTE is a complex neurodegerative disease, and though mounds of incredible, cutting-edge research has been churned out over the past 10-15 years, there is still much unknown about CTE. CTE is buried in Neuroscience Journal and similtaneously on the front page of The Boston Globe. It can be hard to know what to trust and how to understand the science.
